In 1923, two cousins, Jacob Kraminer and Ralph Zabitsky, both in their early twenties, established THE WORKMAN BAG COMPANY, the forerunner of today’s MULTISAC®. Starting with two employees, their first product was reconditioned jute bags, or what we refer to today as “Recycling”. They soon began manufacturing new jute and cotton bags, for agricultural and mineral markets.
Workman Bag became one of the largest producers of textile bags in Canada, serving the animal feed, flour, sugar and potato markets -- to name a few.
Our founders’ continued optimism, foresight, tenacity and unwavering adherence to ethical values formed the basis for the company's success and continue to guide and inspire our every action.
